Manual Tasks/Handling TIPS
Manual Tasks - TIPS Injury Prevention Program
We ALL do manual tasks daily, at work & at home. Injuries cost up to $14,000 each directly, and 7x this indirectly, so quality pro-active Injury Prevention training and strategies are a must!
Workers are educated in relevant anatomy, learning what activities/behaviours lead to injuries, and how strong appropriate behaviours minimise injury risk. They must take responsibility for their own health, wellbeing & behaviour, at work AND home. This comprehensive Accredited TIPS Program addresses WHAT is mostly injured, WHY change, and HOW (the easy bit) to minimise risk.
The goal is to reduce injuries by sound behavioural change. They learn a problem solving based system regarding their physical behaviours, including the trademarked Safety-Kone model, that can be applied to all tasks at work or home.
The Training:
· Is anatomically educational
· Is practical, including problem solving one’s own risks minute to minute
· Is interactive, lively, participative, and enjoyable
· Includes anti-fatigue exercises, stretches, and postural practice
· Is well developed, easy to understand and apply to all jobs/tasks
Process: Our TIPS consultant will:
· Visit your business, reviewing/assessing tasks, equipment, behaviours. Critical, prior to training.
· Train staff and selected leaders to drive the TIPS program internally, achieving sustainability/positive results
· Work with staff post training to reinforce the program
