We have had many musculoskeletal Workcover claims over the years. So, to minimise further injuries due to poor manual task techniques, in 2020 we engaged Physio Paul Knotts of TIPS to train our staff in risks, handling techniques, and a daily workplace stretch regimen.

Since the inception of this program until 2025, we have seen our number of workplace musculoskeletal injuries virtually drop to zero, and all of the workers enjoy participating in daily stretches.

“As OHS state manager for Adbri Masonry, I had a close relationship with Paul Knotts as he delivered Manual Handling and Injury Prevention Training for us across Queensland and NSW. His passion and enthusiasm for injury prevention and training facilitation heightens the experience for all participants so they can’t help but learn. Transference of knowledge is clearly demonstrable in the workplace after one of Paul’s sessions”

“The training held at NQX Freight, Townsville was very informative and not one person coming out of the sessions had a bad thing to say about it. The comments were very good to say the least. Some employees, who are renowned for not wanting to sit through these sessions, even commented on how well it was run and how they enjoyed the information they received. I asked these employees because they would have been the worst critics.

Paul did a great job, and kept everyone interested. Congratulations and thank you for the sessions”

Steve Winfield, Regional HSE Manager,
NQX Freight, North Queensland
“Paul, all the feedback this morning has been really positive. A couple of the guys commented it was the best manual handling training session they have had, with no negative comments at all. Very interesting and well done thanks”
